Alumni Reunion 2010
Dear Alumni of Palmer Home for Children,
We greet you with excitement and anticipation as we begin plans for the Palmer Home for Children 2010 Alumni Reunion! Mark your calendars for October 7 – 11, 2010, and plan to enjoy a fun-filled, relaxing weekend of fellowship and rekindling of friendships on our Hernando Campus in Hernando, Mississippi.
Many ideas and thoughts are being considered for this wonderful weekend, and the Development Team would love your input. We are including with this letter a quick interest sheet that we will use to plan the weekend. From the opportunity to be a part of the Reunion Planning Committee to the activities that will be available during the weekend, we are asking for your response to make sure this weekend is the best it can be and of interest to all of our precious alumni. Many events will be planned throughout the weekend, and your attendance may begin and end as you prefer.
Please take a brief moment to complete the "Interest Response Form." (Click here to complete and submit online). The Development Team in conjunction with the Reunion Planning Committee will communicate your responses and will send updated information on the event via regular mail, e-mail, and the Palmer Home website and Face Book page.

From Our Alumni:
I lived in Swoope Cottage with the Via's and their children. I came to Palmer Home as a lost teenager and probably like allot of others have found, I did not have the slightest clue of how much of a blessing it truly was until many years later. Looking back now, I consider one of the greatest gifts given me by my house parents Gordon and Bertie Via and all the other staff, would be that it was the first time in my life that I had ever felt wanted, protected and safe.
A "Thank You" is not enough to express what a difference it made in the type of person I grew into. (Kay W.)
I am currently residing in Florida and working as a paralegal which, I have done for the past 20 plus years. I am very grateful for my time at Palmer Home because it instilled values in me that I probably would not have had. I was there with Mr. and Mrs. Via, Fur Fur (Kay Ferguson), the Aherns, etc. My sister was also there with me. We didn't reside in the same cottage most of the time there, but we still had a lot of time together and because of the bond we had at Palmer Home, we are still very close. ( Diane G.)
I was in Frierson Cottage, the houseparents were Michael and Debra Leech.
Palmer Home was a turning point in my life. I wouldn't find it out until years later.
I learned a lot of good values that have helped me today.
I would like to come back to Palmer Home someday and visit. (Jefferey B.)
