Kids will Say...........

On the way to his football game Patrick told his Housedad in a very excited voice that, "tonight I'm gonna be a fullback!"  On the way home after the game his housedad questioned him as to why he didn't play at fullback.  Patrick replied in a serious voice, "The coach is just saving me for desperate times!"

4 year old N'Sharia was talking to Ms. Kara one day their conversation went something like this:
N'Sharia - "Ms. Kara, how did you get your baby out?
Ms. Kara - "The doctor took her out at the hospital."
N'Sharia - Oh - she's pretty.  Are you gonna go back and get another one?"

Rachel Johnson came over to the Campus Life Office, and was really chomping on a pickle.  Pam Criger, administrative asst., said to her, "Boy, that pickle looks so good.  Is it a sweet pickle or a dill pickle?"

Rachel replied, "I don't know.  I didn't look at the jar!"

Laura Fuller, Housemom for Brotherhood Cottage, overheard Joey and Amanda, then age 6, singing along with a CD she was playing.  The song they were listening to was "He's Exalted."  What they were singing was, "He's Exhausted."

Mike Hyde the Housedad in Phillips Cottage was looking for Andrew Butler, age 6, one morning.  Andrew has a tendency to wander and explore new places.  He couldn't find Andrew on any of the playgrounds or porches.  He was getting ready to go cottage to cottage looking for him, when He saw Andrew coming out of Brotherhood Cottage.  Mr. Hyde was just getting ready to get on to Andrew, when Ms. Laura, our campus nurse and housemom of Brotherhood came out and said, "Don't get on him I was putting a bandage on his knee."

Mr. Mike then walked Andrew home and asked him why he didn't come home for a bandage.  He look at Mr. Mike kind of of puzzled and said, "Because that is the NURSERY COTTAGE!!"  He just looked at him and laughed.

Mike Hyde the Housedad in Phillips Cottage was teasing Ms. Marge, the Housemom one morning about being stressed out. And since she was totally stressed out, she was getting pretty aggravated with him, and stated, "You are driving me crazy". Tiffany, age 7, was trying to be helpful, and explained to them the symptoms of somebody driving you crazy!

"Your head spins and all you can hear is the person that is aggravating you."

Ms. Marge spent the rest of the morning walking around the house saying, "I really need for my head to stop spinning."

Michael Bailey was nine years old and lived in Hutchinson cottage.  At supper one night, everyone at his table was taking turns telling when their birthday was.  Michael sat listening like he was in deep thought, and when it was his turn, he offered this:  "Yeah, and you know what else?  My birthday comes the same time every single year!"

Amanda Kirkley had been home sick with a nasty cold.  After she woke from her nap, she asked her housemom, "Mamaw, will you fix me mixed up eggs?"  Ms Polly, knowing that she was referring to scrambled eggs, said, "I sure will."  She did, and Amanda promptly woofed them all down.  Later in the day, Amanda was wanting more eggs, but obviously thought it might be too much to ask twice in one day.  So she tried this very creative approach:  "Mamaw, can you teach me RIGHT NOW, how to make mixed up eggs?"  It worked!

Ms. Kaye, a housemom that has been with us for over 30 years and also our supply room supervisor brought one of our children new underwear one day.  Brandon Butler, who had outgrown his old underwear was very thankful and told her, "This is great, no more wedgies!"
