Columbus Campus

VISITING GROUPS NEWS & EVENTS PHOTO GALLERY

The Columbus Campus began over a century ago as Palmer Orphanage. It now provides a home for children who, because of no fault of their own, need a place to live.

Located on 110 acres in south Columbus, the Columbus Campus of Palmer Home for Children maintains seven cottages. Each cottage can provide a home for 8-10 children. These spacious and comfortable houses are staffed by a houseparent couple who provide the daily nurture and guidance the children need.

On the Columbus Campus we currently care for almost 80 children. It covers 100 acres and has seven cottages, two administrative buildings, a gym, swimming pool, 12 greenhouses and several other buildings. The Columbus Campus is home to the Lindamood Building, built in 1898, and now on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. It still houses our Central Office, Campus Administration, Kitchen and Dining Hall.
